The CHRODIS Platform is a tool where decision-makers, caregivers, patients, and researchers across the EU can find and share the best knowledge on chronic diseases. The platform includes:
- A clearinghouse of excellent chronic disease practices and policies across Europe, selected on the basis of criteria agreed by experts across the EU;
- An online tool to allow users to evaluate practices, interventions and policies using assessment criteria established by JA-CHRODIS;
- A digital library, which includes other relevant content (documents, video and audio material, websites, etc.) focused on chronicity.
- An online helpdesk with expert consultants to advise users on the development, implementation and evaluation of chronic disease practices.
"User Data" means any data, information or material provided or submitted by a User in the course of using the Platform.
"Intellectual Property Rights" means unpatented inventions, patent applications, patents, design rights, copyrights, trademarks, service marks, trade names, domain name rights, mask work rights, know-how and other trade secret rights, and all other intellectual property rights, derivatives thereof, and forms of protection of a similar nature anywhere in the world.
"Content" means the information (collection of practices, digital library documentation, helpdesk toolkit, etc.) made available to the user in the course of using the Platform.
“CHRODIS Consortium” mean the beneficiaries according to the JA-CHRODIS grant agreement funded under the third EU Health Programme 2014-2020.
The CHRODIS Platform administrators are Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) located at Avenida Monforte de Lemos 5 E-28029 Madrid, Spain and Instituto Aragones de Ciencias de la Salud (IACS) located at Avda. San Juan Bosco, 13, planta 0 50009 Zaragoza, Spain.
- the CHRODIS Consortium on the one hand, and;
- the Users, on the other hand,
in relation to access and use of the CHRODIS Platform.
Access to and use of the CHRODIS Platform is only provided to natural persons at least 18 years old at the time of registering. Registration in the platform is free of charge and limited to the entitled person only.
The User is entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of its password and ID. Furthermore, you are entirely responsible for any and all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify the CHRODIS platform administrators immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any breach of security.
The User warrants that she/he will not, nor will they license or permit others to, directly or indirectly:
- Sell, distribute, license, rent or otherwise exploit the CHRODIS Platform and/or its Content or any element of it, for any commercial purposes.
- Post or transmit information or materials that would violate the rights of the CHRODIS Platform and other CHRODIS users (for instance, packaging software which contains a virus or other harmful component that alters, amends, modifies, translates or changes the CHRODIS Platform Software, the CHRODIS Platform Data Warehouse and/or the Content).
- Use the material supplied in an unlawful way, prohibited or in a way that is misleading.
- Upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any information, materials or other offensive, illicit and/or inappropriate content into the CHRODIS Platform.
The CHRODIS Platform (Digital Library and Clearinghouse) does not display commercial content. It is forbidden for the Users of the CHRODIS Platform to publish commercial advertisements in the form of contents, banners or links. The CHRODIS Platform’s Digital Library and Clearinghouse content is supervised periodically prior to publication including screening for offensive, illicit, commercial and/or inappropriate content, in accordance to the CHRODIS Platform Editorial Policy. In case, any content sought to be offensive, illicit and/or inappropriate, it will be directly banned from the CHRODIS Platform, without the need to warn or notify the author.
Disclosure of funding sources
The Platform is co-funded by the European Union, in the framework of the European Commission Health Programme (2008-2013) and by ICIII and IACS. The Platform does not receive funding from advertising or from the display of commercial content.
Limitation of liability
The CHRODIS Consortium strives to keep the Content of the CHRODIS Platform complete, up-to-date and accurate according to rigorous professional standards.
Under no circumstances, including but not limited to negligence, will the CHRODIS Platform owners or the individuals and/or institutions providing the practices be liable for any sort of damages that result from the use or inability to use the materials produced by the CHRODIS Platform.
Due to the nature of the CHRODIS Platform as a large and complex service we cannot guarantee the prompt editing or removal of any inappropriate or inaccurate information. If you find any information that is inaccurate or inappropriate, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are a user who chooses to access the information on the CHRODIS Platform seeking medical guidance, you should not rely on the Content of CHRODIS information as professional medical advice or use it to replace any relationship with your doctor or other qualified healthcare or social care professional. For medical concerns, including decisions about medications and other treatments, individuals should always consult their doctor or, in serious cases, seek immediate assistance from emergency personnel.
Intellectual property rights
The Intellectual and industrial property rights and know-how associated with the CHRODIS Platform Technology belong to the CHRODIS Consortium Parties that carried out the work generating the CHRODIS Platform, according to their share, to be included in a co-ownership agreement.
The CHRODIS Platform consortium grants users a non-transferable, limited, non-exclusive licence to use the CHRODIS Platform Content for their own purposes. Unless otherwise indicated, all Content on the CHRODIS Platform is licensed under the Creative Commons license CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 ES available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/es/deed.en
Reproduction, distribution, transmission, re-publication, display or performance of the Content delivered by the CHRODIS Platform shall acknowledge the source by displaying the following acknowledgement: “Results have been obtained using the CHRODIS Platform (more information available at http://www.chrodis.eu). This Platform arises from the Joint Action CHRODIS which has received funding from the European Union, in the framework of the Health Programme (2008-2013)”. It shall also display the following disclaimer: “The content of this information represents the views of the author and this published work is his sole responsibility; it can in no way be taken to reflect the views of the European Commission and/or the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers or any other body of the European Union. The European Commission, the Executive Agency and/or the CHRODIS Platform software co-owners do(es) not accept responsibility for any use that may be made of the information it contains.“
CHRODIS Platformservices allow you to submit and to access content. CHRODIS Platform does not claim ownership of any materials you upload or publish at CHRODIS Platform. You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights that you hold in that content.
In the course of using the CHRODIS Platform, you may provide CHRODIS Platform administrators with feedback, including but not limited to suggestions, observations, errors, problems, or defects regarding the Platform. You hereby transfer and assign to the CHRODIS consortium all of your right, title, and interest in and to all Feedback, including all Intellectual Property Rights therein.
The CHRODIS Platform and, in particular, the content uploaded into the Digital Library, contains links to websites which are not under CHRODIS control. CHRODIS Platform has processes in place to ensure that links published on the CHRODIS platform directing the user to third party content function properly. CHRODIS Platform administrators are not responsible for the availability or content of such other websites, nor for any products or services available from them. Any such link should not be seen as an endorsement by us of such websites, or any of the products or services contained on them. Links are made to or from the website at your own risk.
The user data provided during registration and while using the platform is collected only for the purposes of the Chrodis project and will be incorporated into an automated file managed by Instituto de Salud Carlos III, in accordance with the existing legislation, the Spanish Organic Law 15/1999, of 13 December, about protection of personal data.

The CHRODIS Platform owners may terminate the supply of the content at any time upon written notice posted at the CHRODIS website. On termination of the supply, the user shall have no rights of any kind. At any time, you can unregister by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
